NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms today and tonight across eastern Iowa, far southwestern Wisconsin, and western Illinois, and a MARGINAL RISK for severe thunderstorms across the rest of Illinois and southern Wisconsin (south of a La Crosse to Tomah to Beaver Dam to Milwaukee line). A low pressure system in the Plains will moves eastward toward Wisconsin, with a cold front moving through Wisconsin and northern Illinois tonight. Mild and somewhat humid air ahead of the cold front will support thunderstorm development along and ahead of the cold front this afternoon and evening. A few severe thunderstorms are possible, with the main threats being hail and high winds. The greatest severe weather threat will stay south of Wisconsin, but an isolated severe thunderstorm may be possible from late this afternoon through this evening over the southwestern portion of the state, where the atmosphere will be a little more unstable. The severe weather threat will end with the passage of the cold front on tonight.
