A cold front will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to southern Wisconsin later this afternoon and evening.  Skies will be variably cloudy and highs will be near 80 before the rain arrives. There is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats. Showers and thunderstorms will end early tonight with skies then becoming partly cloudy and lows dropping into the upper 50s.

As high pressure moves in, skies will be mostly sunny on Friday with pleasant high temperatures in the middle 70s.

High pressure will remain in control of our weather through the upcoming holiday weekend and it should be a spectacular one. There will be abundant sunshine both Saturday and Sunday with highs near 80.

Warm and dry weather can be expected for the Independence Day holiday. The Fourth of July Monday will be partly sunny and warm with high temperatures in the middle 80s.

Tuesday will be partly sunny and very warm with high temperatures in the upper 80s. It will be variably cloudy, very warm and more humid on Wednesday with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s, and heat index values will be near 90.

It will remain very warm and humid toward the end of next week with highs in the upper 80s, heat index values in the lower 90s and chances of showers and thunderstorms for both Thursday and Friday.
