NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for tonight for the southern quarter of Iowa and the central third of Illinois, and a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for the rest of Iowa (except for the far northern portion), the rest of Illinois, and the extreme southern portion of Wisconsin (south of a Prairie du Chien to Madison to Milwaukee line), as well as the northern quarter of Wisconsin (north of a Superior to Hayward to Wausau to Marinette line). Morning thunderstorms stabilized the atmosphere over much of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Warm and humid air still covers the central Midwest ahead of a cold front moving through Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. Severe thunderstorms should develop in southern Iowa and central Illinois south of where morning thunderstorms ended. Hail, high winds, and heavy rainfall are the main threats. There is a possibility that an isolated severe thunderstorm may still be possible ahead of the cold front over Iowa, northern Illinois, and far southern Wisconsin. High winds and hail are the main threats. The severe weather threat will end with the passage of the cold front later tonight.
