Tonight will be partly cloudy, mild and muggy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly late. Some patchy fog may develop. Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s by early Wednesday morning. 

Wednesday will be variably cloudy, very warm and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as a warm front passes through Wisconsin. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s, with heat index values in the 90s. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, mild and muggy with any showers and thunderstorms ending. Some patchy fog may develop, and temperatures will fall into the lower 70s by early Thursday.

Some of the hottest air of the summer will arrive for the rest of the week. Thursday will be partly sunny, breezy, hot and humid with high temperatures in the middle 90s. Heat index values will reach the triple digits, perhaps as high as 106 degrees. Friday will be partly sunny, hot and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will reach the lower 90s, and heat index values will be near 100 degrees. 

For the weekend, Saturday will be variably cloudy, hot and humid with high temperatures near 90 degrees. Heat index values will be in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday as a warm front pushes north through Wisconsin. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday morning as a cold front heads to the southeast. Sunday afternoon should become partly sunny and very warm, but it will become a little less humid. Highs will reach the upper 80s, and heat index values will be in the lower 90s.

Monday will be partly sunny, very warm, and a little less humid with high temperatures in the middle 80s and heat index values in the upper 80s. Tuesday will be partly sunny and continued very warm with highs in the middle 80s and heat index values in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.

An EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH has been issued for from 7 AM Thursday morning until 7 PM Friday evening for eastern and northeastern Iowa, northwestern Illinois, and southwestern and west-central Wisconsin. In Iowa, this includes the counties of ALLAMAKEE, CLAYTON, DELAWARE, and DUBUQUE. In Illinois, this includes the counties of JO DAVIESS and STEPHENSON. In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of: MONROE, JUNEAU, ADAMS, VERNON, RICHLAND, CRAWFORD, IOWA, and GRANT (this includes the La Crosse metropolitan area).
