NOTES:
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in effect until 10 PM for eastern and parts of northeastern Iowa, northern Illinois, and parts of southwestern, south-central, and southeastern Wisconsin. In Iowa, this includes the counties of CLAYTON, DELAWARE, and DUBUQUE. In Illinois, this includes the counties of JO DAVIESS, STEPHENSON, WINNEBAGO, BOONE, and McHENRY (this includes the Rockford and Chicago metropolitan areas). In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of IOWA, DANE, JEFFERSON, GRANT, LAFAYETTE, GREEN, ROCK, and WALWORTH (this includes the Madison and Milwaukee metropolitan areas).

An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING is in effect until 7 PM Saturday evening for eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois. In Iowa, this includes the counties of DELAWARE and DUBUQUE. In Illinois, this includes the counties of JO DAVIESS and STEPHENSON.

A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect until 7 PM Sunday for south-central and southeastern Wisconsin, including the counties of DODGE, DANE, JEFFERSON, GREEN, ROCK, and WALWORTH (this includes the Madison and Milwaukee metropolitan areas).

The Storm Prediction Center says is an ENHANCED RISK of severe thunderstorms for tonight across much of central Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin (west of a Cumberland to Eau Claire to Minneapolis line), a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms over most of the rest of Minnesota (except for the far northeast), the northeastern third of Iowa, the northern quarter of Illinois, and the rest of Wisconsin, and a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms over the rest of Minnesota, the rest of Iowa, and the rest of the northern third of Illinois. A weak warm front will approach southern Wisconsin, as a cold front moves into western Minnesota. Severe thunderstorms will occur along both of these fronts. High winds, hail, and heavy rainfall will be the main threats, although an isolated tornado may be possible where thunderstorm development initially takes place. Thunderstorms may form a squall line with a greater potential for damaging winds during the evening from eastern Minnesota and northern Iowa into western Wisconsin. The line of thunderstorms will weaken overnight, although isolated severe thunderstorms with a threat for high winds and hail may still be possible into eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for Sunday and Sunday night for the northern half of Illinois, and the eastern third of Wisconsin (east of an Iron Mountain, MI to Portage to Darlington line). Isolated severe thunderstorms may be possible on Sunday morning as thunderstorm activity from Saturday night moves through Wisconsin and Illinois. As a cold front passes through southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, additional thunderstorms may form along the front. Isolated severe thunderstorms with high winds, hail, and heavy rain are the main threats. The severe weather threat should end with the passage of the cold front on Sunday afternoon.
