The Storm Prediction Center says there is SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight for northeastern Illinois, and extreme southeastern Wisconsin (east of a Lake Geneva to Milwaukee line), and a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for extreme southeastern Iowa, the rest of the northern two-thirds of Illinois, and the rest of the eastern quarter of Wisconsin (east of a Green Bay to Portage to Darlington line). As a cold front passes through southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois during the afternoon, thunderstorms may form along the front, most likely from Michigan through northeastern Illinois to southeastern Iowa. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible, with high winds, hail, and heavy rain as the main threats. The severe weather threat should end with the passage of the cold front this evening.
