This afternoon will be variably cloudy, very warm, and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s, with afternoon heat index values in the lower to middle 90s. Tonight will be partly cloudy, mild and muggy with any showers and thunderstorms ending. Some patchy fog may develop, and temperatures will fall into the lower to middle 70s by early Thursday.
Some of the hottest air of the summer will arrive on Thursday. Skies will be partly sunny, and it will be hot and humid with high temperatures in the middle 90s. Heat index values will reach the triple digits, perhaps as high as 106 degrees. It is possible that some showers and thunderstorms will develop in northern Wisconsin on Thursday along a weak cold front, reaching southern Wisconsin on Thursday night. Friday will be partly sunny, hot and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach the lower 90s, and heat index values will once again push into the triple digits. If thunderstorms don't develop or miss southern Wisconsin, Friday could be a few degrees hotter than forecast
For the weekend, Saturday will be variably cloudy, hot and humid with high temperatures near 90 degrees. Heat index values will be in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday as a weak cold front in Illinois tries to push northward as a warm front toward Wisconsin. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday morning as a cold front moves to the southeast through Wisconsin. Skies should become partly sunny on Sunday afternoon, and it will remain very warm and humid. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s, and heat index values will be in the middle to upper 90s.
Monday will be partly sunny, very warm, and a little less humid with high temperatures in the middle 80s and heat index values in the upper 80s. Tuesday will be partly sunny and continued very warm with high temperatures in the middle 80s and heat index values in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
Wednesday and Thursday will be warm and humid with highs remaining in the mid 80s and a chance of showers and thunderstorms from late Wednesday into Thursday.

There is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight for eastern Minnesota, eastern Iowa, the northern half of Illinois, and most of Wisconsin. As the hot and humid air expands to the north and east, the area for potential thunderstorm development will also shift to the north and east. Thunderstorms may develop along the warm front as it passes by today, with some possible becoming severe with high winds being the main severe threat.
