The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms today and tonight over the southern half of Iowa, the northern three-quarters of Illinois, and the southern third of Wisconsin (south of a Prairie du Chien to Beaver Dam to Manitowoc line). Low pressure will pass north of Wisconsin today, dragging a cold front through the state during the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will arrive in western Wisconsin early this morning, and move eastward along and ahead of the cold front. An isolated severe thunderstorm with high winds and hail may be possible as well as locally heavy rainfall. A few thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon, with a very slight chance of a severe thunderstorm developing; the main threat will be high winds and hail. The severe thunderstorm threat should end with the passage of the cold front late today.
