A nearly stationary front has set up across the Midwest, dividing warm and humid air to the south of Wisconsin from the cooler air in central and northern parts of the state. Tonight will be variably cloudy, mild and muggy with areas of fog and showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will fall into the middle 60s by early Thursday. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for Dane County and areas to the north and west through Thursday.
Thursday will remain variably cloudy, very mild and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s. The front will begin to head to the south on Friday with mostly cloudy skies and showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
Saturday will be partly sunny and very mild with highs in the upper 70s. A storm system will head toward Wisconsin on Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies, breezy southerly winds, and mild and humid air returning to southern Wisconsin. Showers and thunderstorms will develop, and high temperatures will be in the middle 70s.
A cold front will move through Wisconsin on Sunday night and Monday, with showers and thunderstorms continuing Monday. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and it will be breezy and cooler with high temperatures in the upper 60s. A large area of low pressure may move into the region Tuesday and Wednesday, keeping the chance for rain in the forecast. Highs will reach the middle to upper 60s.

The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight over the southern third of Minnesota, the northern half of Iowa, and central and the western Wisconsin (west of a Dubuque to Wisconsin Dells to Ladysmith line). There is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for the rest of Wisconsin today and tonight. A stationary front will stretch from northern Iowa and southern Minnesota through southern Wisconsin. Warm and humid air south of the front will fuel thunderstorms along and north of the front. Hail, high winds, and heavy rainfall are all possible with the strongest thunderstorms.
