A nearly stationary front will set up across the Midwest from today through Friday, dividing warm and humid air to the south of Wisconsin from the cooler air in central and northern parts of the state. Today will be mostly cloudy, very mild, and humid with showers and thunderstorms likely; some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. High temperatures will be near 80 degrees. Thursday will remain mostly cloudy, very mild, and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms; high temperatures will be in the upper 70s. The front will begin to dissipate on Friday with variable cloudiness and slightly lesser chances of showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the middle 70s.
Saturday will be partly sunny and very mild with highs in the upper 70s. A storm system will head toward Wisconsin on Sunday, with variably cloudy skies, breezy southerly winds, and mild and humid air returning to southern Wisconsin. Showers and thunderstorms will develop, mainly late in the day or at night. High temperatures will be in the middle 70s.
A cold front will move through Wisconsin on Sunday night and Monday, with showers and thunderstorms coming to an end on Monday. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and it will be breezy and cooler with high temperatures falling back to around 70 degrees. A large area of low pressure may stick around the region into next week, keeping the chance for rain in the forecast. Highs will be a little cooler in the upper 60s.

In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of MONROE, JUNEAU, ADAMS, VERNON, RICHLAND, CRAWFORD, GRANT, MARQUETTE, GREEN LAKE, SAUK, COLUMBIA, DODGE, IOWA, and DANE (this includes the La Crosse and Madison metropolitan areas).
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight over the southern third of Minnesota, the northern half of Iowa, and central and the western Wisconsin (west of a Hudson to Eau Claire to Dodgeville line). There is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for the rest of Wisconsin today and tonight as well. A stationary front will stretch from northern Iowa and southern Minnesota through southern Wisconsin. Warm and humid air south of the front will fuel thunderstorms along and north of the front. Hail, high winds, and heavy rainfall are all possible with the strongest thunderstorms.
