A nearly stationary front has set up across the Midwest, dividing warm and humid air to the south of Wisconsin from the cooler air in the central and northern parts of the state. This front will continue to generate showers and thunderstorms through Friday.
Today will be variably cloudy, very mild, and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms as the stationary front begins to move southward as a cold front late in the day. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy and not as warm with scattered showers and thunderstorms as the cold front shifts to the south of Wisconsin. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
Saturday will be partly sunny and very mild with highs in the upper 70s. A storm system will head toward Wisconsin on Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies, breezy southerly winds, and mild and humid air returning to southern Wisconsin. Showers and thunderstorms will develop, and high temperatures will be in the middle 70s.
A cold front will move through Wisconsin on Sunday night and Monday, with showers and thunderstorms continuing Monday. Skies will be mostly cloudy, and it will be breezy and cooler with high temperatures in the upper 60s. A large area of low pressure may move into the Midwest on Tuesday and Wednesday, keeping skies mostly cloudy and keeping a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. High temperatures will reach the middle to the upper 60s.

In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of MONROE, JUNEAU, ADAMS, MARQUETTE, GREEN LAKE, VERNON, RICHLAND, SAUK, COLUMBIA, CRAWFORD, IOWA, DANE, and GRANT (this includes the La Crosse and Madison metropolitan areas).
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight over the southern quarter of Minnesota, the northern half of Iowa, and extreme southwestern Wisconsin (west of an Alma to Tomah to Darlington line). A stationary front from southern Minnesota through central Wisconsin will begin moving southward as a cold front. Warm and humid air south of the front will continue to fuel thunderstorms along and north of the front as it pushes into Iowa and southern Wisconsin by tonight. Hail, high winds, and heavy rainfall are all possible with the strongest thunderstorms.
