The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for extreme southeastern Minnesota, most of Iowa (except for the far northwest), most of Illinois (except the far northeast), and west-central and southwestern Wisconsin (west of a Rochester, MN to Black River Falls to Madison to Beloit line). A cold front will be moving from western Minnesota and Iowa this morning into Wisconsin and Illinois tonight. Mild and somewhat humid air ahead of the front will lead to thunderstorms. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible with high winds, hail, and heavy rainfall as the main threats. Widespread heavy rainfall is not expected at this time. The threat of severe thunderstorms will end with the passage of the cold front tonight.
