Mild weather will continue for the rest of this week. Areas of fog are expected this morning, but once the fog lifts, skies will be mostly sunny. It will remain mild with high temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Tonight will be partly cloudy and milder with temperatures only falling into the middle 40s by early Thursday morning.
On Thursday, a strong fall storm system will develop to the west of Wisconsin. Skies will be partly sunny, and it will be breezy and unseasonably mild with high temperatures climbing into the middle to the upper 60s. The record high for Madison for Thursday is 69 degrees from 1971. The storm system will pass by to our north on Friday, leading to mostly cloudy skies, windy conditions, and mild high temperatures near 60 degrees by midday. A cold front will move through Wisconsin on Friday afternoon with a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. Colder air will begin to move into the state with temperatures nearly steady or slowly falling into the 50s on Friday afternoon.
As colder air continues to move into Wisconsin Friday night, rain showers may mix with a few light snow showers. Skies on Saturday will be mostly cloudy, and it will be windy and much colder with a continued chance of light rain or snow showers, mainly in the morning. Temperatures will hold nearly steady in the upper 30s through the day. Sunday will be partly sunny, breezy and chilly with high temperatures in the upper 30s.
Monday will be mostly sunny and not quite as chilly with high temperatures in the middle 40s. Tuesday will be partly sunny and pleasant with high temperatures in the middle 40s. A weather system approaching from the southwest will bring mostly cloudy skies on Tuesday night, along with a chance of rain showers by early Wednesday morning.
