Today, a strong fall storm system will develop to the west of Wisconsin. Skies will be partly sunny, and it will be breezy and unseasonably mild. High temperatures in the upper 60s will be very close to the record high temperature for Madison of 69 degrees set in 1971. Tonight will be partly cloudy, breezy, and unseasonably mild as well with low temperatures in the middle 50s, more than 10 degrees above our normal high temperature for this time of year!
The storm system will pass by to our north on Friday, leading to mostly cloudy skies, windy conditions, and mild high temperatures in the lower to middle 60s by midday. A cold front will move through Wisconsin Friday afternoon with a slight chance of showers, mainly SE of Dane county. Colder air will begin to move into the state with temperatures nearly steady or slowly falling into the 50s during Friday afternoon.
As colder air continues to move into Wisconsin Friday night, rain showers may mix with a few light snow showers. Saturday start out mostly cloudy, and it will be windy and much colder with a slight chance of light rain or snow showers early in the day. Skies will become partly sunny by Saturday afternoon, as high temperatures climb only back into the upper 30s. Saturday night will be mostly clear and colder with low temperatures in the lower 20s. Sunday will be mostly sunny and chilly with high temperatures in the upper 30s to around 40.
Monday will be mostly sunny and not quite as chilly with high temperatures in the middle to upper 40s.
Skies on Tuesday will become increasingly cloudy with high temperatures in the middle to the upper 40s. A chance of rain showers is possible by late Tuesday afternoon as a storm system approaches from the southwest. Skies will be mostly cloudy for Tuesday night with scattered rain showers. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with scattered rain showers, possibly mixing with snow before ending on Wednesday evening. High temperatures will be in the lower 40s.
Nice weather should return for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thursday will be mostly sunny and pleasant with high temperatures in the middle 40s. Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers late and highs in the middle 40s.
