Our weekend winter storm will be moving to the east overnight. Tonight will be mostly cloudy as light snow in areas south and east of Madison accumulates another 1-2" this evening before tapering to flurries and ending. Temperatures will fall to the lower 20s by late evening; overnight low temperatures will be in the middle to the upper teens by morning.

Monday will be mostly cloudy in the morning, with some sunshine returning in the afternoon. High temperatures will be a little colder, topping out in the lower to the middle 20s.

A cold front will move through Wisconsin on Monday night, accompanied by some snow flurries and colder weather. Low temperatures by early Tuesday morning will fall into the single digits, with wind chills dropping to as cold as -15. Tuesday will be partly sunny, breezy, and colder as high temperatures top out  around 10 degrees, although wind chills could be as cold as -10 to -15 during the day. 

The coldest air of the winter so far will arrive for mid-week. Wednesday and Thursday will be partly sunny and very cold; Wednesday will be breezy as well. Wind chills will range from -10 to -20 early in the morning, while actual air temperatures will be in the single digits below zero. During the day, high temperatures will top out in the upper single digits above zero, although wind chills should mainly stay below zero even in the daytime.

Friday won't be as cold, but it will be mostly cloudy and breezy with snow developing as a storm system moves in from the southern Plains. Some snow accumulation is possible from Friday afternoon through Friday night. High temperatures will be in the lower 20s.

For next weekend, the storm system will move eastward on Saturday, followed by another blast of cold air on Sunday. Saturday will be mostly cloudy, become windy, and turn colder with light snow tapering to flurries and ending. High temperatures will be in the lower to the middle 20s, but temperatures will fall back into the teens by late afternoon. Sunday will be partly sunny and colder with low temperatures just abover zero, while wind chills drop to as cold as -15. High temperatures will only reach the lower teens.
