Tonight will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and turning dangerously cold with snow showers and flurries ending, followed by clearing skies overnight. Temperatures will fall to the single digits by late evening; overnight low temperatures will fall to around -10 degrees, with wind chills by morning dropping to -20 to -35.

Sunday will be mostly sunny but will be bitterly cold. Blowing snow may still be a problem, mainly during the morning. High temperatures will only rise to the single digits below zero, with wind chills remaining from -10 to -20 through the day. On Sunday night, expect clear skies and another bitterly cold night. Low temperatures will fall again to around -10 degrees. Winds won't be as brisk as Sunday morning but still will be strong enough to produce wind chills of -15 to -25 by morning.

Temperatures will moderate for the rest of the week. Monday will be partly sunny, windy and not quite as cold. High temperatures will be in the upper teens to around 20. Tuesday will be partly sunny, windy, and milder with high temperatures in the lower 30s.

A weak weather system will pass through the Midwest from Wednesday into Thursday. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Wednesday with light snow showers and highs remaining in the lower 30s. Any light snow or flurries will end early on Thursday, and it will be variably cloudy and slightly cooler with highs in the upper 20s.

Friday will be partly sunny and becoming windy with highs jumping into the upper 30s ahead of a cold front moving in on Christmas Eve.

The weather should be relatively quiet and a little cooler for the Christmas weekend. Christmas Eve will be mostly cloudy and a little cooler with a chance of light snow and highs dropping back to the lower 30s. Christmas Day looks partly sunny, breezy and colder with highs falling into the middle 20s.
