Sunday will be partly sunny, very warm and humid with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will reach the upper 80s to near 90 with heat index values as high as the middle 90s again. Those showers and thunderstorms will continue into the night and there is a chance of some of them becoming severe.
Monday will remain very warm and humid with a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening as a low pressure system and cold front approach from the west. Some of these storms could be severe. Highs on Monday will reach the middle 80s with heat index values near 90. The cold front will move through Monday night, with showers and thunderstorms ending with the passage of the front.
Behind the cold front, temperatures will fall off, and humidity levels should decrease as well. Tuesday will become partly sunny and warm, but less humid with highs in the upper 70s and a slight chance of an afterno! on shower. Wednesday and Thursday look to be very nice, with lots of sunshine and highs in the middle to upper 70s. There is a slight chance of a few showers again Wednesday.
The Fourth of July looks good as well, as it should be mostly sunny and a little warmer with highs back into the lower 80s for Friday. The heat and humidity return next weekend, with highs in the mid 80s and a chance of thunderstorms Saturday night into Sunday.

NOTES:
There is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for Sunday and Sunday night for the southern half of Minnesota, eastern Iowa, and the western half of Wisconsin. Thunderstorms should end Sunday morning in Wisconsin, allowing for a very warm to hot and humid air mass to develop. As a low pressure system and cold front move into Minnesota and western Iowa, more thunderstorms will develop Sunday afternoon, some of which may be severe. Hail, high winds, and heavy rainfall area the main threats, although tornadoes can't be ruled out, especially where thunderstorms develop in Minnesota and Iowa. The severe weather threat may persist into Sunday night as well.
There is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for Monday and Monday night for eastern Iowa, northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Showers and thunderstorms will dev! elop in the vicinity of a cold front near the Wisconsin/Illinois borde r on Monday afternoons and move east into the night. Hail, high winds and heavy rainfall are the primary threats from these storms.
