NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight for all but far northwestern Iowa, the northern half of Illinois, and the southern quarter of Wisconsin (south of a La Crosse to Sheboygan line). A warm and humid air mass will be in place over the central Midwest on Saturday. A weak cold front will approach the area from the northwest in the afternoon. In addition, a weak stationary front formed by overnight thunderstorms cooling the air may be over the area. Thunderstorms should end early on Saturday morning, but will redevelo! p Saturday afternoon with the approach of the cold front. High winds, hail, and heavy rainfall are the main threats, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, especially near the stationary front which is likely to be over southern Iowa into northern Illinois or extreme southern Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon. Eventually, the cold front will merge with the stationary front Saturday night. The severe weather threat will end with the passage of the cold front.
