NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for Saturday and Saturday night for extreme southeastern Minnesota, all but far northwestern Iowa, the northern half of Illinois, and the southern third of Wisconsin (south of a Rochester, MN to Stevens Point to Milwaukee line). A warm and humid air mass will be in place over the central Midwest on Saturday. A weak cold front will approach the area from the northwest in the afternoon. In addition, a wea! k stationary front formed by overnight thunderstorms cooling the air m ay be over the area. Thunderstorms should end early on Saturday morning, but will redevelop Saturday afternoon with the approach of the cold front. High winds, hail, and heavy rainfall are the main threats, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, especially near the stationary front which is likely to be over southern Iowa into northern Illinois or extreme southern Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon. Eventually, the cold front will merge with the stationary front Saturday night. The severe weather threat will end with the passage of the cold front.
