Partly sunny skies this morning will become mostly cloudy this afternoon. It will be bitterly cold with high temperatures in the single digits above zero, although wind chills will be from -5 to -20 this morning. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and not as bitter cold. Snow will overspread southern Wisconsin as a fast-moving storm system slides to our southwest, with 1-5" of accumulation likely by morning. The heaviest amounts will be over far southwestern Wisconsin, and the lightest amounts northeast of Madison. Low temperatures will fall to around zero, with wind chills of -5 to -15.

Any lingering snow will end early Tuesday morning with partly sunny skies for the remainder of the day. High temperatures on Tuesday will be in the upper single digits, and wind chills will be below zero in the afternoon, as winds will increase later in the day with some blowing and drifting of the fluffy snow possible. 

The coldest air of the season will a! rrive Tuesday night. Low temperatures will crash to around -12 by Wednesday morning, with dangerously cold wind chills as low as -40 a possibility. Wednesday will be mostly sunny, but still windy and bitterly cold with high temperatures staying below zero and wind chills as cold as -30 even during the afternoon.

Thursday will become mostly cloudy and windy with a chance for snow showers or flurries, mainly during the afternoon. It will be bitter cold with morning temperatures in the lower teens below zero with wind chills ranging from -20 to -30. High temperatures on Thursday afternoon will be near 10 degrees. Friday will be partly sunny, windy, and bitter cold again with morning low temperatures around -5 and wind chills from -20 to -30; high temperatures will only reach the middle single digits.

Saturday will be variably cloudy and bitter cold again with a slight chance for flurries. Low temperatures will be near -10 with wind chills from -15 to -25. High! temperatures will only reach the upper single digits. Partly sunny sk ies will return on Sunday with low temperatures near zero and high temperatures in the middle teens.

On Monday, skies will become cloudy as a weather system moves in bringing a chance for light snow. High temperatures will climb back into the lower 20s.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued from 3 PM Monday afternoon until 3 AM Tuesday morning for extreme northeastern Iowa, including the county of ALLAMAKEE.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued from 6 PM Monday evening until 3 AM Tuesday morning for southwestern and parts of west-central, south-central, and southeastern Wisconsin, including the counties of VERNON, RICHLAND, SAUK, CRAWFORD, IOWA, DANE, GRANT, LAFAYETTE, GREEN, ROCK, and WALWORTH (this includes the Madison metropolitan area).
